Selected topics in surface ocean - lower atmosphere science (224.4992)
2 points credit.
Grade breakdown: students lectures during the semester (100%).

Some of the most important processes within the climate system occur in a narrow zone centered at the ocean-atmosphere interface, where transport of material, momentum and energy takes place. The study of these processes is interdisciplinary in nature, often requiring understating of the physics, chemistry and biology of the aquatic and atmospheric media. The objective of this course is to expose the students to major challenges and recent advancements in the study of the surface ocean – lower atmosphere interface. The course will include a number of introductory lectures, followed by students presentations of selected topics.
